The movie "KNOWING"

I have watch the movie last night and it freak me out, well it's not about the girl from 1959 to write the numbers that are the dates, casualties and location of cataclysmic event. What freak me out was the "super sun flare" that happened near the end of the movie. If you haven't watch the film yet I think you must it's a very good movie that stars Nicholas cage and after watching it think about it. Think of this question can we do something to prevent it to happen?
